First, Not Best

Your Monday Photo Shoot: Display the first picture you took in 2006. Couldn't be easier (unless the first picture you shot was, you know, one that would violate AOL terms of service. In which case, show off the first one that doesn't).

The kitchen counter. The Canon timestamp says it was taken on 12/31, but I'm pretty sure the camera time is about seven hours behind.

My first good picture of 2006 does not yet exist.

Update: Tuesday morning:

For those who have been wondering about the blue drink: scroll down a few entries! It's Disney Hot Cocoa in "Sorceror Blue!" I also have "Galaxy Green" and "Rock 'N' Roll Red" cocoa.

Last night I got as far as page 398 in Chapter 10 in my final edit of Heirs of Mâvarin, but my cold had been getting worse all evening. I banished myself to the couch so John could sleep, and today I've come home sick. *sniffle*

Technology Limps On

Speaking of not-good photos, I got the photos from the disposable camera developed, the one I bought at Disneyland when the Canon's battery ran low on Christmas Day. I got prints and a photo CD. A few of the daylight shots are decent, but most of them look like this:



And to think that for most of the 1990s, disposable cameras were all I had! But here's one of the better shots:



Oh, and here's another not-so-good photo from 2006. This morning, there were a couple of Chihuahuan Ravens in the St. Michael's parking lot. I didn't get a good photo, but here's one of my lousy ones:
