Zoom! And Relax

For Feline and Furball Friday:

I don't really have a story for you this week about my dogs, except that Pepper is backsliding a bit on the whole obedience issue, and Cayenne gave me a scare today.

Zoom!

Cayenne kicks up the dust.

Pepper is momentarily distracted from the racing.

They're still going to the dog park nearly every day, and their favorite thing to do is chase other dogs. Pepper has a tendency to bark at any dog who is bigger than she is, especially a St. Bernard and a Rottweiler. Cayenne sometimes gets in barking mode as well. They don't attack other dogs, but sometimes I think they're a little too aggressive, and I had to drag Pepper away twice yesterday when she ignored me to follow the Rottie around. Their races at the fence next to the small dog enclosure are far less problematic.

Pepper, looking older than her estimated 3 years.

Pepper has also decided not to come when I call her in from the back yard fence, where she waits to bark at cats. She really likes to spend time out there, and would bark intermittently all night long if I didn't close her inside.

Cayenne in her "election special" red, white and blue bandana

Cayenne woke me today as she shook the bed with a sort of rhythmic twitching that originated at the rear end of her chest. She was wide awake, and I was briefly terrified that she might be having a seizure. But I'm now reasonably convinced that it was doggie hiccups, of all things! It was over in a minute or two. She's fine now, but I'll be keeping my eye on her.

I love the effect on that first shot. Lots of action in that one! Pets are wonderful, but they do bring their own set of worries, don't they. Hope Cayenne is OK.

Thanks so much for stopping by at my blog! I know just what you mean about that one "Fences" shot looking like the Seurat. I thought the exact same thing when I took it. Nice to know somebody else saw it too.

My Sidney gets hiccups fairly often, even more when we first got her. It scared me the first time it happened too. I hope that's all it was with Cayenne.
I wish we had a doggie park here, I think Sidney would enjoy playing with the other dogs, I know she would love to run free for a while. For now we make do with walking at the school while waiting for Makayla's bus.
