EMPS: Dognapping
No, I don't mean that in the sense of kidnapping dogs. For Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot #19: Nap Time, Carly is looking for pictures of someone or something napping, or what napping means to us. Since I can;t photograph myself napping, and John doesn't let me post pictures of home, it's got to be the dogs, doesn't it?
Fortunately, dogs nap a lot. Unfortunately, when I approach with the camera, they tend to rouse. Pepper in particular tends to leave the room if I so much as turn on the camera, or make a motion that makes her think I might rise from my office chair!
Here's the only shot I managed tonight that really fit the bill. I'll try again by daylight, when I don't need the flash so much, and add to this entry. But first I'm going to take a nap! Possibly an eight hour one.
***24 hours later***
I've been trying to catch them napping all afternoon, evening and night. This is what happens when I turn on the camera and approach:
But I did eventually get a few shots in which their eyes are almost closed:
That'll have to do!
Be sure to check Ellipsis every Monday for the Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot topic, and for links to the previous week's participating entries.
New entry to follow. Just have to decide whether to sleep first!

Hi Karen
My goodness those puppies look so comfy! Cayenne is so photogenic. Cute, cute, cute puppies!
Always, Carly
I think you got some great shots of sleepy, er, sleeping dogs! I know that such efforts can be tiring, though, so I can understand your need for a nap afterwards. ;-)
I have been trying for months to get a photo of one of my dogs who sleeps on her back with her feet in the air. I even postioned the camera ready on the coffee table. You have obviously got a much quieter technique. A super set of photos :)
Oh, no one naps better than dogs. They are so cute!
I can never catch my dog napping either. I don't think he likes the camera. You did get Pepper sleeping, or at least looking close to sleeping. The big red bed looks comfy.
I knew I would find some sleeping dogs here! Well relaxed sleepy dogs! :)
Man, those photos make me want to go curl up on the couch!
