Now, if I were a really serious photographer with a serious camera that I really knew how to use, I could set the focal length so that some foreground object is in focus and the background is all fuzzy, or vice versa. I don't know how to do that, though, so let's just fake it in editing:

On to something more interesting. I've photographed this plant several times before, but tonight I caught it at the perfect time for interesting patterns of light and shadow. Even at a distance, the details are interesting. But let's get closer:

Ah. Cool. Closer still:

I have some more detailed experiments, but I'll save them for tomorrow night.
Now go see what the other Robins are up to!

I really like the shadows a lot. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job of focusing on the details -- I like the way you got closer and closer to the plant.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the plant gets more interesting the closer you get. Becomes more abstract, just the details :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the sweater with the depth of field you created. Reminds me, I should do an entry on that as it's not hard at all to do in camera.
Oh that second picture with the shadows is particularly neat. I like this idea of zooming in.
ReplyDeleteAs details I would have taken one hair on the sweater and a cute little spider on the plant ! But your pictures are very nice anyway !
ReplyDeleteI love the light and shadow you've captured in the plant, and it did get even more interesting as you got closer and closer. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed both entries on details...you did a very creative job! And our cat loves very similar plants as well...lol.
ReplyDeleteNice job!
